Floydada High School Band makes beautiful music, earns "Excellent" and "Superior" ratings in Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation
On Thursday, March 9, your Floydada High School Band performed at the 2023 UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation in Sundown, Texas. The band performed extremely well despite having one-fourth of the membership absent. The band received ratings of 221 in concert evaluation and 111 in Sight-Reading evaluation. With a 111 rating in Marching Contest, the Floydada High School Band brings its competitive season to a successful close. This has been, by far, the most successful year the band has had in a long time, and we are eagerly looking forward to our community outreach and engagements the remainder of the year.
These include a chamber concert on Monday, March 27 at 6:00 pm; a Spring Concert and Banquet on Tuesday, May 2 at 6:30pm; and UIL State Solo and Ensemble contest May 27-29 (in which Lailah Burks and Devin Reyes will be competing in the solo contest). We will also be performing for the community on multiple occasions, including at the surrounding nursing homes, libraries, and Old Settlers Reunion.
