Band Ensembles Excel at Abernathy Band Festival
On Thursday, April 13, nine ensembles traveled to Abernathy High School for the annual Abernathy Band Festival. All of the ensembles performed admirably, and we took home seven division 1 medals and two division 2 medals. Afterwards we ate at the Plainview Wendy’s, where the cashier there was such a kind and delightful person that many in the band dubbed her their honorary “Auntie.” The kids made sure the place was spotless before they left, and she gave us a joyful “I’m proud of y’all!” as a farewell. It was a really good day to be a Whirlwind!
