3rd Grade Music

The Floydada 3rd Grade Elementary music class introduces young students to the joys and benefits of music. The course focuses on establishing a strong foundation of pulse and pitch centers through the use of body percussion, boomwhackers, single-octave mallets, and singing; as well as introducing students to basic music notation to put them on the path to individually successful music literacy. Students are exposed to daily collaborative teamwork exercises and fine motor skill development, important building blocks for success in all areas of their formal education.

4th Grade Music

The Floydada 4th Grade Elementary music class continues the education established in 3rd grade music and begins to apply it to wind instrumental performance. Students will begin work on miniature wind instruments (Nuvo instruments) in preparation for upgrading to flute, clarinet, trumpet, or trombone in the 5th Grade Beginning Band. We continue expanding students’ music literacy and collaborative teamwork skills.
